We were pleased to have scheduled a visit from Lancashire Owls and Hawks who offer to bring a few birds of prey into the home, give a talk about them and give Residents an opportunity to see the birds close up. Residents recently celebrated National Pizza Day by holding their own Pizza making workshop! Seven Residents gathered in the dining room while Caroline set up freshly chopped bowls of potential toppings. On Thursday we held a Nostalgia Afternoon. We hold these fairly frequently throughout the year, each time having a different themed ‘nostalgia case’ to open containing old items in keeping with the theme. We were delighted to host a day devoted to fun, laughter, eating cake and raising money for Macmillan. The day had a Great British Bake Off theme and Residents, staff and visitors were all invited to submit a home baked entry to the best cake competition. On Wednesday seven Residents enjoyed a trip out to Knowsley Safari Park accompanied by Caroline and Jay, The weather was warm and dry for most of the day which was definitely a bonus for seeing the animals.
